FLSmidth wins Euro40m PT Semen Padang contract
08 January 2014Indonesia: FLSmidth has received an order worth Euro40m from PT Semen Padang for a cement production line with a capacity of 8000t/day. The plant is located in Indarung, just outside the city of Padang in West Sumatra.
The order includes equipment for the main part of the production line, including a raw mill, coal mill, preheater, kiln, burner, clinker cooler and silo equipment as well as a complete control system for the entire plant. This new line will be the sixth line at the plant site. Four of the other five lines at the plant were supplied by FLSmidth.
PT Semen Padang is part of Semen Indonesia Group, Indonesia's largest cement producer with a total cement production output of 30Mt.
Suez Cement orders bag filter system from Boldrocchi
11 December 2013Egypt: Suez Cement has ordered a bag filter system from Boldrocchi srl for its Helwan Plant. The turnkey contract includes new bag filters, a heat exchanger and fans for the kiln, raw mill and clinker cooler. This will replace the plant's existing baghouse and glaver bed filters.
Previously Italian engineering firm Boldrocchi had signed a contract with the Helwan Plant in 2012 to provide bag filters and fans for the Helwan Plant. Line one was commissioned in November 2013 and Line two is expected to be completed at the end of May 2014.
Lafarge Republic orders cement grinding plant from Fives
20 November 2013Philippines: Lafarge Republic signed a contract with Fives FCB for a new cement grinding plant for the Teresa plant located in Rizal province. The proposed plant will add 850,000t/yr production capacity to the Teresa plant's capacity in 2015. No financial information for the contract has been released.
The contract includes raw material feeding, with clinker and pulverised coal fed through the existing circuit and other additives, such as a limestone, gypsum, fly ash, fed by truck dump. A cement grinding workshop will be fitted with one Horomill® 3800 and one TSV™ 4500 classifier, associated with a dryer-aerodecantor and a TGT™ filter (under Fives Solios licence). A Fives Pillard vertical hot gas generator (12 MW) for the pouzzolana (25% moisture) drying will also be fitted.
The plant's cement silo will have a capacity of 5000t. A new cement transport system will connect the new silo, the site's existing silos and the packing plant. The contract also includes the control and supervision system and an electrical sub-station for the new build.
Saudi Arabia: MAN Diesel & Turbo has received an order from the United Cement Industrial Company to build a 54.5MW captive power plant for a new 5000t/day cement plant located in the south of the country.
MAN Diesel & Turbo is building the power plant under an Engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) agreement covering delivery of the engines and the erection of all essential ancillary equipment. A consortium partner is responsible for local deliveries and services. Construction of the plant is set to begin in late 2013, with delivery of the engines due to take place in mid-2014.
"We believe there is tremendous potential in the domain of local power plant solutions for independent energy generation in particular, for example for cement or steel works. The United Cement Industrial Company is a new client for us and one we have convinced with our technical concept," said Dr Rene Umlauft, CEO of MAN Diesel & Turbo.
Kazakhstan considers purchase of Belarusian cement railway wagons
01 November 2013Belarus/Kazakhstan: Kazakhstan is interested in buying a 'large' batch of Belarus-built wagons for cement transportation, according to Nigmatzhan Isingarin, President of the Association of National Forwarding Agencies of Kazakhstan and the Kazakhstani Association of Freight Carriers and Wagon (Container) Operators. Isingarin met with the Prime Minister of Belarus, Mikhail Myasnikovich, on 31 October 2013. The wagons will be manufactured by the Mogilev railway car building plant.
In addition to negotiating a purchase, Isingarin and Myasnikovich discussed a contract for manufacturing and supplying wagons via international leasing. Isingarin said he was satisfied with the progress in the project's implementation. So far 425 wagons have been delivered.
KHD receives COMFLEX® order from Batısöke
29 October 2013Turkey: Batısöke Söke Çimento Sanayi T.A.Ş., part of the Bati Anadolu Group, has awarded KHD Humboldt Wedag a contract for engineering and delivery of equipment to increase its cement grinding capacity at its cement plant in western Turkey. The contract to install a new COMFLEX® grinding system will increase the capacity of cement grinding unit no 5, from 59t/hr to 195t/hr at 3300 Blaine and save more than 12kWh/t energy.
KHD´s scope includes the engineering and delivery of mechanical and electrical equipment, as well as advisory services during erection and commissioning for the new COMFLEX SC16-3250. This will be KHD's third COMFLEX grinding unit in Turkey after Denizli and Kahramanmaras Cimento.
The core equipment to be designed and delivered by KHD include: a clinker grinding system (COMFLEX® SC16-3250); a roller press RPS 16-170/180 with ROLCOX® system for control and monitoring; a V-separator, type VS 524, as static classifier; a high efficiency separator SEPMASTER, type SKS-VC 3250 as dynamic classifier; and a system fan HKF 200/265.
The commissioning of the new COMFLEX® system, in combination with the existing ball mill system, is planned for the end of 2014.
Sinoma signs US$277m clinker line project in Nigeria
16 October 2013China: Sinoma International has announced that its subsidiary Sinoma Construction has signed a US$277m contract to build a 6250t/day clinker production line for the United Cement Company of Nigeria's Calabar plant. Sinoma will be responsible for equipment and steel structure supply, design, installation, civil construction, commissioning and training in the whole process from mine crushing to cement shipping. Construction of the cement mill is planned to be completed by the end of 2015. Construction of the clinker line is planned to be finished by mid-2016.
Dangote orders new Loesche mill for Ibese
19 September 2013Nigeria: Dangote has ordered a new vertical roller mill from Loesche for a new project, Ibese 7, at its Ibese cement plant. The mill is the 13th mill the Nigerian cement producer has ordered from Loesche for Ibese.
The order is for a LM 63.3+3 vertical roller mill for grinding clinker with components such as gypsum and limestone. The product rate of clinker type CEM I will be 310t/hr at 3200 blaine while the product rate of clinker type CEM II will be 295t/hr at 4500 blaine. The gearbox capacity for the LM 63.3+3 will be 6700kW.
In addition to the mill Loesche will deliver a LF 20 (burner dual-fuel HFO / NG) hot gas generator and all the mechanical equipment between the mill pre-bins and the product bucket elevator. Loesche will also supply all electrical equipment and automation, the building steel structure and the detail engineering of the civil works. A latest generation type LDC classifier will also be delivered by Loesche. Commissioning is scheduled for the end of April 2014.
Cimentos Mozambique order US$8m filter from American Air Filter
12 September 2013Mozambique: Cimentos Mozambique has signed a contract for the manufacture and installation of a filter to reduce the emissions from its cement plant in the southern city of Matola. The US$8m order has been placed with American Air Filter for installation in 2014.
"Protecting the environment and the health and well-being of the residents of Matola and the surrounding area was one of the first points on the agenda of the new management of the factory. We are convinced that we will be in a much better situation when the new filter is installed next year," said Cimentos Mozambique spokesman Sergio Bandeira.
Cimentos Mozambique is Mozambique's largest cement producer. In late 2012 Brazilan cement producer InterCement took over the company from Cimpor.
MacGregor secures carrier order for Taiheiyo Engineering
04 September 2013Finland: MacGregor has secured a new order for autonomous loading and unloading systems for an 8700DWT cement carrier to be built for Japanese ship-owner Taiheiyo Kisen Kaisha. The cement handling systems are designed to carry three grades of cement at a rated capacity of 1000t/hr.
"The totally enclosed cement handling arrangements will ensure flexible, efficient and clean cargo operations," says Anders Berencsy, Sales Manager, Selfunloaders at MacGregor.
Cargotec subsidiary MacGregor provides engineering solutions and services for handling marine cargoes and offshore loads.
