Italy: Buzzi Unicem has reported that its net sales have fallen by 3% year-on-year to Euro2.08bn for the first nine months in 2013. Cement sales volumes fared better with a 1.2% drop to 20.6Mt. For the third quarter of 2013 the Italy-based cement producer reported drops in sales volumes in Mexico, Italy and Eastern Europe.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) fell by 10% to Euro336m. Buzzi Unicem expects recurring operating results to fall by 5 – 10% for the whole of 2013 compared to 2012.
