Cameroon: Ciments de l'Afrique (CIMAF) has agreed with the Cameroon Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA) to invest US$33m in its integrated plant at Douala. The subsidiary of Morocco’s Addoha Group plans to triple the plant’s production capacity to 1.5Mt/yr, according to Business in Cameroon magazine. The unit was originally commissioned in 2014.

Mali: Ciments de l'Afrique (CIMAF) has inaugurated a 0.5Mt/yr grinding plant at Diago in the Koulikoro Region. The project has an investment of over US$32m, according to the MaliJet new website. It was built following an agreement signed in 2014 between the Addoha Group, the owner of CIMAF, and the government. President Ibrahim Boubacar Kéita presided over the event with members of the of government and Anas Sefrioui, chief executive officer of Ciments de l Atlas (CIMAT) and head of CIMAF. The plant has created over 200 jobs.

Ghana: President John Dramani Mahama has inaugurated a 1Mt/yr cement plant in Tema on behalf of Ciments de l'Afrique (CIMAF), a subsidiary of Morocco’s Addoha Group. The project had an investment of Euro60m according to the Ghana News Agency. Construction started in 2014.

Burkina Faso: CIMAF, a subsidiary of Morocco’s Addoha Group, has started building a 0.7Mt/yr cement grinding plant in Bobo-Dioulasso. The plant will cost about Euro25m and will be completed by the end of 2017, according to the North Africa Post newspaper. The new plant will generate 200 direct and indirect jobs. CIMAF also operates a 0.5Mt/yr grinding plant in Ouagadougou.

Ivory Coast: King Mohammed VI of Morocco, with Ivorian Prime Minister Daniel Kablan Duncan, has launched a Euro12m cement packing plant in Abidjan. The plant has a bag production capacity of 80Mt/yr that can be extended to 160Mt/yr. The Africa-Cote d'Ivoire Cement company plant (CIMAF-Cote d'Ivoire), a subsidiary of Addoha Moroccan group, will supply bags for the group's cement projects in Cote d'Ivoire, Guinea Conakry, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Gabon, Congo-Brazzaville, Niger and Mali.

As part of the delegation the Moroccan King and Duncan also visited a 0.5Mt/yr Addoha clinker plant in Abidjan. This unit has been operational since July 2013 and it imports clinker from the Addoha-subsidiary Ciment Atlas (CIMAT), which has two cement plants in Morocco.
