Robert Bunting appointed as head of Bunting
26 October 2022US: Bunting has appointed Robert Bunting as its president and chief executive officer. He succeeds his father, Bob Bunting, in the role. Bunting Senior has now become chair of the company.
Robert Bunting joined Bunting’s Elk Grove Village magnet sales team in 2007. He later became the company’s Global Product Manager for Metal Detection in 2014 and then General Manager of Bunting Elk Grove Village in 2016. He previously sat on the business intelligence committee for PMMI (The Association for Packaging and Processing) and is the marketing director of the Process Equipment Manufacturers' Association (PEMA) at present. He holds a degree in business management at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri and previously worked for Sun Life Financial.
Bunting is a designer and manufacturer of magnetic separators, metal detectors, magnets, magnetic assemblies and magnetising equipment. The company has its headquarters in Newton, Kansas. It was originally founded in 1959 in Chicago, Illinois by Walter F Bunting, the grandfather of Robert Bunting.
UK: Bunting plans to promote its magnetic separator and metal detector products at the Powtech trade fair taking place in Germany in late September 2022. The company will be displaying a number of high-strength rare earth magnetic separators including its Plate Magnet Housing (PHMS), Drawer Magnet (HFS), Grate Magnet, Plate Magnet and Bullet Magnet products. Each magnetic separator effectively removes fine tramp iron from a wide range of granules and powders at different locations within a plant. The company promotes its products to the aggregate, quarrying, recycling and slag processing sectors amongst others.
Bunting opens Bunting-Redditch Customer Experience Centre
21 September 2021UK: Bunting has opened the Bunting-Redditch Customer Experience Centre at its Bunting-Redditch facility in Redditch, Worcestershire. The centre is equipped with high-intensity magnetic separators, eddy current separators and a revolutionary electrostatic separator. Bunting said that it will enable its engineers to work in partnership both remotely and at site.
General manager Adrian Coleman said “Having the ability to test and prove the separation capabilities of a specific machine is priceless. There is a constant flow of materials arriving to be tested and being returned. We are fortunate enough to have unique laboratory-scale technology that enables separations that are simply not possible in other test houses. Investing in our new Customer Experience Centre has already generated orders that previously we would not have secured.”
Alan Why appointed as Bunting’s UK Sales Manager
08 January 2020UK: Bunting has appointed Alan Why as its UK Sales Manager overseeing all external sales activity. His engineering career began as a radio-frequency (RF) electronics design engineer and evolved into the role of Sales & Marketing Director of a small electronics company serving the defence electronics market. Why has developed magnet-related business for Bunting since he joined the company in 2013. The responsibilities of his new role cover a wider product range including magnets, magnetic separators and metal detectors.
Bunting is a designer and manufacturer of magnetic separators, metal detectors, magnets, magnetic assemblies and magnetising equipment. The Bunting European manufacturing facilities are in Redditch, just outside Birmingham, and Berkhamsted, both in the UK.
UK: Bunting Magnetics Europe has appointed Tom Higginbottom and Gordon Kerr to its sales team. Higginbottom joins Bunting’s external sales team and has an engineering background, with particular knowledge of hydraulics. Kerr will be responsible for business development in a new internal role. He previously held a sales and marketing position at Anglian Home Improvements before becoming a project manager at Ceramica & Stone.
Bunting Magnetics supplies magnetic separators and metal detectors. The European manufacturing headquarters are based in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire. In January 2017, the company acquired Master Magnets.
Bunting Magnetics to acquire Master Magnets in UK
05 January 2017UK: Bunting Magnetics, a US company specialising in the magnet and magnetic equipment sector, has signed an agreement to acquire Master Magnets, a UK-based manufacturer of magnetic separation equipment. The Redditch-based firm produces magnetic separation, recycling and metal detection equipment to several industries worldwide including the mining, quarrying and aggregate sectors. No value or terms for the deal has been disclosed.
“Master Magnets has deep customer relationships in new markets for us such as mining, quarrying and aggregates. We are especially excited to now be able to offer a large range of ATEX approved electromagnets and mineral separation equipment,” said Simon Ayling, Managing Director of Bunting Magnetics Europe. Ayling will assume operations management responsibility of this new division following the purchase.
Master Magnets was founded in 1978 and currently has 26 employees. The company designs, manufacturers and services a line of industrial magnetic separation equipment including eddy current separators, permanent and electro magnets, including overband magnets, drum magnets and suspension magnets. The company also supplies a range of mineral separation equipment for customers around the world. The company will continue to operate out of its Redditch headquarters in the UK.
