Spain: FYM-HeidelbergCement plans to spend Euro3m on a new raw slate crusher at its integrated Malaga cement plant. The upgrade will replace two existing crushers and will improve dust and noise emissions. The new crusher will be installed in early 2020, with commissioning scheduled for the middle of the same year. No supplier for the equipment has been specified.

The plant is also about to launch a new clinker conveyor at the Port of Malaga. The enclosed system will deliver clinker from the dock to ships via a telescopic arm with a loading capacity of 650t/hr. The first boat to be loaded with the new system is scheduled for late July 2019. The project cost Euro2.5m.

US: Terex MPS has launched the TG series of cone crushers as part of its Cedarapids range. The bronze bushing spider bearing cone product is intended to complement the company’s MVPX Series (screw type cone) and the TC Series (floating bowl cone).

The new spider bearing range will consist of four models focused on the aggregate and recycling industries: the TG120 (120HP); TG220 (220HP); TG320 (320HP); and TG420 (420HP). Each model is available in two versions: the TG (tertiary) and TGS (secondary). There will also be two larger models available for large capacity mining and quarrying applications: the TG820 (820HP) and the TG1020 (1020HP).

France/Serbia: Turkey’s Fons Technology International, part of Dal Engineering Group, has released information about recent projects for CRH. In France a replacement clinker cooler and roller crusher was commissioned at the Lumbres plant in February 2019. The project started in October 2018 and the upgrade has a capacity of 1500t/day. In Serbia a Fons Delta clinker cooler and three roller crushers were commissioned at Popvac plant in January 2019. This project started in September 2018 and it has a capacity of 2200t/day.

France: Fives Group has tested using its FCB Rhodax cone crusher to process concrete wastes resulting from the demolition and deconstruction industry. During an internal innovation competition, the crusher was used to sort hydrated cement paste from the aggregates and sand. The development will enable cement producers to reuse the paste as a cement additive. Ready mixed concrete producers will be able to make new concrete using the recycled aggregates and sand allowing for a reduction in CO₂ emissions. Fives hopes to turn demolition concrete waste into a valuable commodity.

Peru: UNACEM has ordered a clinker cooler for its Condorcorcha cement plant from Turkey’s Fons Technology International, part of Dal Engineering Group. The cement producer will replace its existing cooler with a new FTI clinker cooler. The FTI cooler is designed so that it can reuse the existing cooler casing and refractory. It has also ordered a three-roller crusher for its 1500t/day clinker production line. Installation is scheduled for September 2019. No value for the order has been disclosed.

Vietnam: Italy’s Bedeschi has signed a contract to supply a double roller crushing unit and relevant control panels for the Quicklime Plant being built in Hoa Binh, Northern Vietnam. The unit is being built by a local cement producer. Start-up is scheduled by mid-2020.
