Malaysia: Hume Cement’s net profit increased to US$290,000 in its first financial quarter, which ended on 30 September 2025. Revenue for the quarter went up slightly from US$68.5m a year earlier to US$70.2m. The company reported that this was due to higher cement sales volumes.

The company stated that “The Malaysian construction sector is anticipated to maintain steady growth, supported by ongoing infrastructure development. In line with this outlook, the group continues to prioritise operational excellence and efficiency to strengthen its competitive position in the market.”

Malaysia: Hume Cement Industries has accepted an offer for a parcel of land it owns in Prai Industrial Estate, Pulau Pinang. Reuters has reported the value of the deal as US$8.57m, on which Hume Cement Industries expects to make a net gain of US$6.89m.

Malaysia: Hume Cement Industries has issued medium-term notes worth US$21.4m, which it said were fully redeemed on 18 December 2023. InPR News has reported that the issuance is the first part of a US$107m programme.

Malaysia: Hume Cement Industries recorded US$65.5m in sales during the first quarter of the 2024 financial year (beginning 1 July 2023). This represents 48% year-on-year growth from US$44.2m one year previously. The producer’s profit was US$10.3m, against a US$2.57m loss in the first quarter of the 2023 financial year.

Bernama Daily Malaysian News has reported that Hume Cement Industries expects domestic cement demand to rise throughout the 2024 financial year. Nonetheless, the company said “The board remains cautious, as the uncertainties arising from geopolitical pressures continue to challenge the cement industry's input costs. The group is increasing its focus on developing sustainable construction materials in this growing economy, while continuing its efforts to enhance operational excellence.”

Malaysia: Hume Cement Industries’ sales were US$218m in the 2023 financial year, up by 40% year-on-year from US$156m in the 2022 financial year. The producer increased its net profit by a factor of 19, to US$12.9m from US$672,000.

Malaysia: Hume Cement Industries Berhad recorded sales of US$117m in the first nine months of 2022, up by 4.7% year-on-year from US$112m. It recorded a loss for the period of US$415,000, down by 82% from US$2.27m. In the third quarter of 2022, Hume Cement Industries Berhad recorded a profit of US$438,000, compared to a US$2.69m loss in the third quarter of 2021.
