Sales of bulk cement grew to 0.95Mt, around 80% of all sales. The manufacturer supplied 86,000t in 1t big bags and 145,000t in paper bags.
Iskitimcement launches new special CEM-I special Portland cement for road construction
24 March 2021Russia: SibCem subsidiary Iskitimcement has added an eighth cement to its product line. The company has launched production of a CEM-I special Portland cement for use in roads and airstrips. It says that the product produces concrete with increased resistance to aggressive media, frost and water resistance and strength, lower heat generation during hardening and longer service life than concrete produced with Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC).
Managing Director Vladimir Skakun said, “Considering that the strategy for the development of the building materials industry until 2030 provides for an increase in the share of cement-concrete roads in the total volume of new roads in the country to 50%, we are preparing to increase the demand for road cements.” He added, “The development of a new type of product is another step in matching consumers’ changing needs.”

Russia: Siberian Cement Holding Company (SibCem) subsidiary Iskitimcement produced 454,000t of cement in the first half of 2020, up by 7.8% year-on-year from 421,000t in the first half of 2019. Cement shipments over the period were 447,000t, up by 7% from 418,000t.
Iskitimcement said that its CEM-I Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) was its most in-demand product, constituting 53% of total production at 243,000t. Its new CEM-II Portland slag cement, launched on 28 April 2020, achieved production volumes of 4000t (1%). It said that the coronavirus outbreak caused a slowdown in June 2020, resulting in a 7% year-on-year drop in demand compared with June 2019. Managing director Vladimir Skakun said, “The general weakening of economic activity, the fall in oil prices and the exchange rate of the national currency and a decrease in the incomes of Russians are causing concern.”
The company completed the installation of a closed-circuit dynamic separator and bag filter produced by Germany-based Christian Pfeiffer into the Iskitimcement plant’s grinding unit 6 in June 2020. To date, the equipment has produced 114,000t of ultra-fine cement towards an annual target of 480,000t.
Iskitimcement commissions separator unit
08 June 2020Russia: Iskitimcement has completed the modernisation of the grinding plant at its 2.1Mt/yr integrated Iskitimcement plant in Novosibirskskaya following the installation of a closed-circuit dynamic separator and bag filter supplied by Christian Pfeiffer at a cost of US$3.69m. Iskitimcement director general Vladimir Skakun said that the upgrade aims, “to provide customers with separated cement that surpasses the quality of products produced with open-circuit grinding.”
The company said that the closed-circuit unit has increased productivity and reduced the temperature of cement. Dust emissions have fallen by over 90%, bringing the plant in line with current environmental strictures. “We are ready to meet the customers’ demand for quality products even at the peak of the construction season,” said Skakun.
Iskitimcement says that it is planning a modernisation of its stacks with the installation of new filters by 2024.
Russia: Iskitimcement has announced the beginning of CEM-II ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) cement at its Iskitimcement plant in Novosibirsk Oblast. Regional Weekly News has reported that the cement will be used in road base concrete production and soil reinforcement. Iskitimcement says that the cement has high frost, abrasion and impact resistance and strength of over 5.5MPa. It will sell the cement, the seventh type produced at the plant, in 25kg, 50kg and 1t bags.
Iskitimcement’s sales fall in 2018

Russia: Iskitimcement’s sales volumes fell in the first half of 2018 due to a poor construction market. Its sales dropped by 7.5% year-on-year to 0.42Mt from 0.44Mt. A particular dip was noted in Western Siberia.
Russia: Iskitimcement has expanded its fleet with three Scania G Series 440LA6 trucks for around Euro0.5m.
