Türkiye: Titan has signed a share purchase agreement to acquire 100% of Traçim Çimento, which operates a 2.5Mt/yr integrated cement plant near Istanbul. The plant supplies the local market and can export to neighbouring countries and the US. A joint solar power project with the sellers is also planned.

The deal strengthens Titan’s operations in western Türkiye, where it already owns a grinding plant and pozzolana quarry in the Marmara region. It also complements the group’s export network to the US. The purchase price is approximately US$190m. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.

Canada: St Marys Cement has appointed Ali Firat as the Director, Operations at its Bowmanville cement plant in Ontario.

Firat previously worked as the Plant Manager at Traçim Çiment’s at Vize, Kirklareli in Türkiye. Before this he was a Production Manager for OYAK Cement. Earlier in his career he spent about 15 years working for Traçim Çiment and Ladik Cement in a variety of production roles. He is a graduate of the Middle East Technical University in Ankara and holds a master of business administration (MBA) from Bahcesehir University in Istanbul.

Türkiye: Traçim Çimento has appointed Oguz Aydinc as Plant Director.

Aydinc started his career in the 1990s and spent 18 years working for Nuh Cimento, mostly in production roles. He then became a factory manager for Traçim Çimento in 2014. He has since worked for Traçim Çimento and Dinçer Çimento in managerial roles as well as for other companies. He recently held the position of Business Development Manager for Liomsi & AMC. Aydinc holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Middle East Technical University.
