Turkmencement completes Lebap cement plant upgrade
24 August 2023Turkmenistan: State-owned Turkmencement has successfully carried out an upgrade to its 1Mt/yr Lebap cement plant at Koytendag. The upgrade involves the installation of a new 3000t/day kiln line, supplied by Germany-based thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions. The producer first announced the project in mid-2020, and ordered the new line in mid-2021.
In 2022, the Lebap cement plant produced 1.1Mt of cement, up by 11% year-on-year from 991,000t in 2021.
Turkmenistan: Turkmencement’s integrated Lebap plant has increased its production of cement to 0.47Mt in the first half of 2022. This is an improvement over the 0.45Mt level reported in the same period in 2021, according to Jeyhun News. The plant was originally built in 2013. A new production line at the site was reportedly ordered from Germany-based Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions in mid-2021.
Turkmenistan: Turkmencement’s Lebap cement plant in Koytendag, Lebap region produced 419,000t of cement over the first seven months of 2020, up by 0.4% from 417,000t over the corresponding period of 2019. Turkmenportal News has reported that the rise is due to the start of addition of porphyritic basalt to the clinker mix.
