Cemex achieves full investment grade status from Fitch Ratings

01 May 2024

Mexico: Cemex announced that it has reached full investment grade status after being upgraded to BBB- by rating agency Fitch Ratings. This follows Standard & Poor’s Global Ratings' upgrade announced in March 2024.

Fernando González, CEO of Cemex, said "Achieving investment grade is a milestone for Cemex. This rating is confirmation of both our strategy and our execution against it.”

Arghakhachi Cement to issue initial public offering

03 September 2021

Nepal: Arghakhachi Cement has announced that it will issue general shares in an initial public offering (IPO) in the 2023 financial year. The exact date of the IPO is to be released later, according to the Republica newspaper. Separately, the cement producer has received certification from the Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology to produce 43 grade Ordinary Portland Cement.

Turkmen producers to produce basalt cement

04 May 2020

Turkmenistan: Cabinet of Ministers’ Deputy Chair Shamuhammet Durdylyev has announced plans for the country to produce a new grade of cement. Turkmenpor News has reported that the cement, designated 500-G20-K, will contain basalt porphyries. Durdylyev has said that the Ufra deposit in the Balkan region of western Turkmenistan will supply the basalt porphyries, adding, “These mineral substances significantly improve the quality of cement.”

The move’s aim is reportedly to boost Turkmen cement plants’ productivity without increasing the reliance on imports.
