Krishna Mohan Gundapaneni appointed as Area Sales Manager for South East Asia by Christian Pfeiffer
19 June 2024India: Christian Pfeiffer has appointed Krishna Mohan Gundapaneni as its Area Sales Manager for South East Asia.
Gundapaneni previously worked for FLSmidth in India from 2008 in a variety of sales roles starting as its Deputy General Manager - Project Sales. He became the equipment supplier’s Area Sales Manager - Pyro & Grinding - Capital Products at the start of 2024. Prior to working for FLSmidth he was the Deputy Manager – Marketing for Fives Cail KCP. He holds a bachelor of technology in mechanical engineering from the Velagapudi Ramakrishna Siddhartha Engineering College and a master of business administration from Andhra University.
Cementos Inka commissions Pisco grinding plant
10 July 2023Peru: Cementos Inka has announced the successful commissioning of its new 800,000t/yr Pisco grinding plant. The new plant is equipped with Christian Pfeiffer grinding and separation equipment. El Comercio News has reported that the producer invested US$55m in the plant. This exceeded previous budgets by 15 - 22%, due to coronavirus-related costs rises. This latest commissioning triples Cementos Inka's installed capacity to 1.2Mt/yr. General manager Carlos Choy estimated that the producer's market share has risen to 10% from 3.9%.
Choy said that the producer's next project will be the construction of a 1 - 1.5Mt/yr kiln line to produce clinker at the site.
Bekabadcement to expand Bekabad cement plant
09 June 2023Uzbekistan: Bekabadcement is carrying out a 'large-scale' upgrade to its 0.7Mt/yr Bekabadcement plant in Tashkent Region. The producer said that the upgrade involves a 20% capacity expansion of the plant's production line to 2500t/day. Austria-based Unitherm CemCon supplied burners for the upgraded line, while China-based Beijing Triumph International Engineering supplied heat exchanger components and a KC 4.1-0955 cooler. The upgrade also involves the installation of new kiln lining, and will transition the plant's cement production from wet to dry process. Germany-based Christian Pfeiffer previously upgraded the Bekabad cement plant's grinding unit in April 2023.
General director Vasily Korobkin "We see that (parent company) United Cement Group (UCG) is interested in the modernisation and development of the enterprise. The group adheres to international standards, so all plans for the development of the plant are built accordingly." He concluded "We expect to become a modern and successful enterprise in Uzbekistan which is capable of becoming a major player in the cement industry of Central Asia.”
Hallett Construction Materials orders Christian Pfeiffer ball mill
03 February 2023Australia: Germany-based Christian Pfeiffer has received an order for a grinding circuit comprising a 16.3m-long ball mill and a QDK T 250-Z type separator from Hallett Construction Materials. The circuit will have a capacity of 84t/hr, according to the supplier. Hallett Construction Materials plans to use the equipment at its upcoming Port Augusta slag cement grinding plant. The plant is scheduled for commissioning in January 2024.
Hallett Construction Materials chief executive officer Kane Salisbury said, “For us, the sustainability of the plant is the highest priority. That’s why we manufacture cement containing 100% slag.” Salisbury added “The Christian Pfeiffer process experts convinced us that the ball mill, in combination with a high efficiency separator, is the best system to serve our requirements.”
Germany: Christian Pfeiffer has launched its new FlexCore hardened rolled steel plates for ball mill diaphragms. With a hardness of 60HRC, the plates are wear and breakage resistant, enabling maintenance to be planned to the day, according to the supplier.
Schwenk Latvija commissions Broceni grinding plant
08 July 2022Latvia: Germany-based Christian Pfeiffer says that it has successfully commissioned the new Broceni grinding plant for Schwenk Latvija. The supplier said that the plant is able to produce cement up to a fineness of 5600 Blaine and is one of the most sustainable grinding plants in Europe.
Schwenk Latvija previously announced a planned investment of Euro34m in a new 170t/day mill and a 12,500t silo at the site of its former Broceni integrated cement plant.
Christian Pfeiffer supplying mill and separator for Cementos Inka
08 December 2021Peru: Germany-based Christian Pfeiffer is supplying grinding and separation equipment for Cementos Inka’s grinding plant project near Pisco. A 4.2m diameter 3500KW mill and a QDK 143-Z type separator with gas recirculation, to help dry the raw material without hot gases, are being provided. Cementos Inka’s 0.7Mt/yr plant was previously reported to have a budget of US$20m.
Russia: Siberian Cement Holding Company (SibCem) subsidiary Iskitimcement produced 454,000t of cement in the first half of 2020, up by 7.8% year-on-year from 421,000t in the first half of 2019. Cement shipments over the period were 447,000t, up by 7% from 418,000t.
Iskitimcement said that its CEM-I Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) was its most in-demand product, constituting 53% of total production at 243,000t. Its new CEM-II Portland slag cement, launched on 28 April 2020, achieved production volumes of 4000t (1%). It said that the coronavirus outbreak caused a slowdown in June 2020, resulting in a 7% year-on-year drop in demand compared with June 2019. Managing director Vladimir Skakun said, “The general weakening of economic activity, the fall in oil prices and the exchange rate of the national currency and a decrease in the incomes of Russians are causing concern.”
The company completed the installation of a closed-circuit dynamic separator and bag filter produced by Germany-based Christian Pfeiffer into the Iskitimcement plant’s grinding unit 6 in June 2020. To date, the equipment has produced 114,000t of ultra-fine cement towards an annual target of 480,000t.
Iskitimcement commissions separator unit
08 June 2020Russia: Iskitimcement has completed the modernisation of the grinding plant at its 2.1Mt/yr integrated Iskitimcement plant in Novosibirskskaya following the installation of a closed-circuit dynamic separator and bag filter supplied by Christian Pfeiffer at a cost of US$3.69m. Iskitimcement director general Vladimir Skakun said that the upgrade aims, “to provide customers with separated cement that surpasses the quality of products produced with open-circuit grinding.”
The company said that the closed-circuit unit has increased productivity and reduced the temperature of cement. Dust emissions have fallen by over 90%, bringing the plant in line with current environmental strictures. “We are ready to meet the customers’ demand for quality products even at the peak of the construction season,” said Skakun.
Iskitimcement says that it is planning a modernisation of its stacks with the installation of new filters by 2024.
Spenner orders grinding plant from Christian Pfeiffer
18 January 2019Germany: Spenner has ordered a grinding plant from Christian Pfeiffer to be built at its main site in Erwitte. The unit will include a Ø 4.4 m x 14.0 m ball mill and a QDK 187-Z cross-flow rotating cage separator. In addition to the grinding plant, the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project also includes the planning of steel and concrete constructions as well as electrical switchgears.
Christian Pfeiffer is also responsible for the manufacture, delivery and optimum coordination of all associated components such as filter systems, bucket elevator, fans, chutes, samplers, reject transport and additional silos for additives. Staff training and performance test procedures carried out by the Christian Pfeiffer employees on site are also part of the commissioning of the plant.
