Michal Kurtinec appointed as head of Wikov Gear

Czech Republic: Wikov Industry has appointed Michal Kurtinec as the CEO of its Wikov Gear division. Other personnel changes include the selection of Radovan Rašpl as the CEO of Wikov TurboGear and Jan Vosátka as the CEO of Wikov GearServices.
Wikov Industry has reorganised itself into two divisions following its acquisition of Litostroj Power in December 2024. Wikov Gear includes Wikov TurboGear (formerly Wikov Gear), Wikov MGI, Wikov Sázavan, GGT Gmeinder Getriebetechnik, Detail CZ, Pacific Rim Engineered Products, Wikov Gear Canada, Wikov - Wessex, Wikov Indigear and Orbital2. The main focus of this division is the development, production, assembly and service of mechanical gearboxes and precision CNC machining. Wikov Hydro includes Litostroj Power (Slovenia), Litostroj Engineering (Czech Republic), Litostroj Hydro (Canada) and Litostroj US (US). This division focuses on the design, manufacture and maintenance of hydro turbines, reverse pump turbines, valves, pumps and is a supplier of complete turnkey solutions for hydro power plants.
Ugur Kacar appointed as Head of Middle East and Turkey / Services at thyssenkrupp Polysius

Türkiye: thyssenkrupp Polysius has appointed Ugur Kacar as Head of Middle East and Turkey / Services. He has also been selected as the general manager and a board member for the local subsidiary thyssenkrupp Polysius Türkiye.
Kacar has worked for thyssenkrupp and its subsidiary thyssenkrupp Polysius since 2018. He started as Account Manager – Cement in Türkiye before becoming the Head of Sales - Middle East and Turkey for thyssenkrupp in 2021. Prior to this he held maintenance and project management positions with Çimsa, Limak Cement and Çimko Çimento. He holds an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Cukurova University in Adana and a master of business administration (MBA) qualification.
Holcim appoints Board and CEO for North American business

Switzerland/US: Holcim is progressing towards the planned listing of its North American business and has designated its future board members. The board will comprise 10 members and will become effective following the execution of the spin-off, expected in the first half of 2025, subject to shareholder and customary approvals.
Jan Jenisch, current chair of Holcim and its former CEO from 2017 to 2024, has been designated chair and CEO of the new business. Jenisch will remain Holcim’s chair until the Annual General Meeting on 14 May 2025.
The Board will include nine independent directors: Theresa Drew, Nicholas Gangestad, Dwight Gibson, Holli Ladhani, Michael McKelvy, Jürg Oleas, Robert Rivkin, Katja Roth Pellanda, and Cristina Wilbur.
Jeon Geun-Sik appointed president of Korea Cement Association

South Korea: Jeon Geun-Sik, the CEO of Hanil Cement and Hanil Hyundai Cement, has been appointed as the president of the Korea Cement Association.
Geun-Sik started working for Hanil Cement in 1991, according to Chosun Daily. During his time with the company he has worked as the deputy head of the Danyang plant, head of corporate management planning, management head, senior vice president of Hanil Hyundai Cement headquarters and the CEO of Hanil Holdings. He has been the CEO of Hanil Cement and Hanil Hyundai Cement since 2022. Geun-Sik is a graduate of the Hanyang University in Seoul.
Changes to leadership at China Resources Cement

China: Jing Shiqing has been appointed as the chair of China Resources Cement (CRC) and Xie Ji has been appointed as the CEO. Jing was previously the CEO of the company and Ji Youhong was previously the chair.
Jing, aged 43 years, has worked as the CEO of CRH since 2023. He joined the group in 2003. He became the Deputy General Manager of the Human Resources Department of China Resources Group in 2018 and the Vice President of the company in 2021. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Changsha University of Science and Technology, China and a master’s degree in business administration from the Nanjing University. He is currently the Vice President of the Fifth Council of the Guangdong Building Materials Association.
Xie, aged 52 years, previously worked as the Deputy General Manager of the Strategic Management Department at CRC. He joined the group in 1993. Notable roles include working as a Vice President in the early 2010s and Chief Strategy Officer from 2021 to mid-2024. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Tongji University and an executive master’s degree in business administration from China Europe International Business School.
