Aggregate Industries appoints Thierry Davila as Cauldon cement plant manager

UK: Holcim subsidiary Aggregate Industries has announced the appointment of Thierry Davila as manager of Cauldon cement plant in Staffordshire. Davila has 27 years’ experience in the cement industry, including working on projects affecting Cauldon cement plant since November 2021. Aggregate Industries says that he brings a wealth of global experience and a proven track record in technical capability. In his new role, Davila will focus on strategic operations, including ensuring that the plant can navigate market challenges while providing innovative solutions to customers.
Aggregate Industries CEO Dragan Maksimovic said “Thierry brings an enormous amount of global experience of the cement industry to Cauldon. Having been part of the Holcim Group for almost 20 years, I am confident in Thierry’s ability to drive the business forward and meet the demands of an ever-changing market. I would like to congratulate Thierry on his new appointment, and I look forward to working with him in the coming months.”
Zhu Yaping appointed as head of Oman Cement

Oman: Oman Cement has appointed Zhu Yaping as its chief executive officer. The appointment follows the retirement of Salim Abdullah Al Hajri in the post.
Zhu Yaping holds over 30 years of experience in the cement sector working for Huaxin Cement. His roles for the cement producer included that of plant manager in Hubei, maintenance manager in Wuhan and the company’s Head of Cement Industrial Performance. He holds a master’s degree in control theories and engineering from the Wuhan University of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
Ebenezer Somuah appointed as head of CimTogo

Togo: CimTogo has appointed Ebenezer Somuah as its chief executive officer. He succeeds Eric Goulignac in the post, according to Lomé Actu. Somuah previously worked as CimTogo’s Finance Director. Prior to this he held finance positions at Ghacem in Ghana. Somuah holds a master’s in business administration from Ghana-based Central University College.
Yoshinori Hyakutake appointed as chair of Turboden

Italy: Turboden has appointed Yoshinori Hyakutake as its chair. Hyakutake, Hiroshi Matsuda, the previous chair, and Yasuo Kamegawa have also been appointed as directors.
Hyakutake joined Nagasaki Shipyard and Machinery Works of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) in 1993. For the majority of his carrier with MHI he has worked in the thermal power engineering section. He later worked as a project manager on several export projects for thermal power plants. From 2017 to 2020, he worked for Mitsubishi-Hitachi Power System. Since 2021, he has been the Senior Vice President of New Business Development at MHI.
Turboden is a subsidiary of Japan-based MHI. The company manufactures and maintains organic Rankine cycle (ORC) systems, large heat pumps and gas expanders.
Vinit Kumar Tiwari appointed as head of Star Cement

India: Star Cement has appointed Vinit Kumar Tiwari as its chief executive officer. He succeeds Sajjan Bhajanka in the post. Bhajanka will continue to work for the cement producer as its managing director and chair.
Tiwari, aged 54, holds over 25 years of professional experience in the building materials sector. His most recent position was as the head of sales and market development for Nuvoco Vistas. Prior to working for Nuvoco Vistas, he was the country head for Greenply, a supplier of plywood and veneer products. Earlier in his career he worked for UltraTech Cement and Grasim Industries. He holds a bachelor of science degree and a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) in marketing.
