Brazil: Eduardo Ferraz has been appointed as the chief financial officer and Investor Relations Officer of Magnesita with immediate effect. Ferraz is currently the finance director for South America, a role he will continue to hold. He replaces Eduardo Gotilla who has resigned from the roles following the on-going merger between Magnesita and RHI with the transfer of some executive officers of the company to the UK.

Gotilla will continue to be an officer for Magnesita International and lead finance and investor relations globally for the Magnesita Group, but will no longer hold an officer position in the company, principally due to Brazilian legislation requiring statutory officers to be residents in Brazil.

India: Manoj Kumar Sinha, a deputy general manager of the Cement Corporation of India has died in a car crash. Sinha and three other persons were killed in an accident on the Yamuna Expressway, according to the Times of India.

Pakistan: Thatta Cement has appointed Muhammad Taha Hamdani as a director with effect from 16 December 2016. He replaces Wazir Ali Khoja. Hamdani has worked for Thatta Cement as its Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary since 2011. Previously to this he has worked for a variety of companies in financial and auditing positions.

Germany: Erik Bach has been appointed the Vice President of the Minerals Processing division at Hazemag. His focus will be on the technology leadership for established products, the consistent completion of the product portfolio and the expansion of the company’s markets. Bach, aged 43 years, has previously worked for FLSmidth.
