Ahead of the 2012 IEEE-IAS/PCA Technical Conference in May 2012, Global Cement Magazine visited the TXI Hunter cement plant in Texas, USA and saw the day-to-day operation of the existing kiln line as well as the ongoing construction of the second.
The 0.9Mt/yr Hunter plant has been in operation since 1980 and is located near to San Antonio, the host city for the IEEE conference. The plant is currently undergoing an expansion with the introduction of a second 1.4Mt/yr line in the confines of the plant's existing footprint.
