The December 2024 issue of Global Cement Magazine is an end-of-year special with our regular Top 100 report on the biggest cement producing companies and countries, plus our take on the main news trends of the past 12 months. We are also very pleased to kick off our ‘Leaders Series’ with an interview with Votorantim Cimentos CEO Osvaldo Ayres. On the technical side there are contributions on electric vehicles, alternative fuel trading, waste heat recovery and novel concretes. The issue’s plant report takes in Votorantim’s Alconera plant in Spain, while there are also contributions on exports from Pakistan and the Mauritanian government’s bold net-zero cement plant project.

In the November 2024 issue of Global Cement Magazine we are very pleased to speak with Dato’ Yeoh Soo Keng, the AFCM President, about the cement sector in the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), the countries covered by the AFCM event. There’s a review of the German cement sector and a look at the Carbon2Business project being undertaken by Holcim at its Lägerdorf plant. There’s also an in-depth cement plant report from Iraq in the Middle East & African cement section. Technical topics in this issue include alternative fuels, ultra-fine slag grinding, plant audits, marine loading/unloading, health and safety compliance and a concrete admix that absorbs atmospheric CO2. There’s also a look at the ConcreteZero initiative, CemVision’s Re-ment range of low-CO2 binders and the benefits of on-shore CO2 capture and storage for the cement sector.
