The January 2022 issue of Global Cement Magazine celebrates 25 years since the publication of its earliest predecessor, Asian Cement & Construction Materials Magazine and has expanded to accommodate contributions from around the global cement sector, its suppliers, associations and consultants. Among those discussing the past, present and future of the sector are the World Cement Association, the VDZ, the Portland Cement Association and the UK Cement Industry Suppliers' Forum.
There are articles on future plant technology, capacity trends, the development of SCM use and the role of logistics, as well as insights from numerous well-known suppliers. Global Cement also reviews the changes to our sector since 1997 and there are interviews with Global Cement's founders and messages of support from around the sector, as well as a pictorial look back on the past 25 years of Global Cement's travels around the world.
There's also a full 'regular' January issue, which includes the winning entries from our annual photography competition, Proudfoot's top tips for the year ahead and articles on fans, alternative fuels and concrete silo reinforcement, along with Global Cement's review of the cement sectors of northern Europe and all of the latest cement news.

The February 2022 issue of Global Cement Magazine is packed with alternative fuels content ahead of the 4th Global CemFuels Virtual Seminar, including a look at future trends in burner design, shredding, waste shipment regulations and explosion protection. There is also comment from Global Cement & Concrete Association CEO Thomas Guillot regarding the role of policy makers in paving the way to net-zero CO2 emissions for the cement sector and our look at the cement sector of Portugal.
Elsewhere in this issue, we interview representatives from drivetrain manufacturer DB Santasalo about the company's history, current activities and future plans. There's also a case-study from motor manufacturer Menzel Elektromotoren and a plant report from El Nahda Cement in Egypt.
The March 2022 issue of Global Cement Magazine looks at industry forecasts to 2025, low-CO2 production technology for cement and lime, advanced condition monitoring systems, conveying and how bauxite residues can act as supplementary cementitious materials. We interview the CEO of Cementos Progreso about the company's recent expansion within Latin America, as well as Volumech, a UK-based producer of volumetric concrete mixers, and look at efforts to resurrect Berbera Cement, Somaliland's only cement plant.
The issue also has reports on the Chinese and South East Asian cement markets to coincide with the Virtual Asian Cement Conference on 1 March 2022, plus reviews the latest goings-on in the Turkish cement sector and all of the latest global cement sector news.
The April 2022 issue of Global Cement Magazine looks at the different effects that the EU ETS will have in different Member States and hears about a novel use for cementitious materials: thermal energy storage, from the Holcim Technology Center. Elsewhere, Beumer Group presents a recent German retrofit case-study and we review the cement sectors of the United States, Austria & Switzerland.
There's also an in-depth discussion about Cementos Progreso's San Gabriel plant, the most modern in Central America, a look at slag use in Europe and all of the latest cement sector news.
The May 2022 issue of Global Cement Magazine will be distributed at the IEEE-IAS/PCA Cement Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. It therefore contains a look at the cement industry of the south west US and Mexico, plus interviews with PCA CEO Mike Ireland and Chief Economist Ed Sullivan.
