June 2024

The June 2024 issue of Global Cement Magazine includes our annual look at the UK cement market, with Edwin Trout from the Cement Industry Suppliers’ Forum. There’s also a review of a number of varied markets in Eastern Europe: Belarus, Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania and Ukraine. Much of this region is volatile, but opportunities are present for producers that are prepared to play the long game.

Technical content comes on the topics of ball mill optimisation, quarrying and stockpile monitoring. There’s also two articles on CO2 capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS), including a special feature on evoZero from Heidelberg Materials, the world’s first CO2-neutral cement. In the global concrete section, we hear from Louis Structures, which has come up with a way to produce light-weight, low-CO2 aggregates from municipal solid waste.
