St Marys Cement orders Airslide analyser from SpectraFlow Analytics

05 February 2025

Canada: St Marys Cement, Votorantim Cimentos’ North American subsidiary, has ordered SpectraFlow Analytics’ Airslide analyser for its Bowmanville cement plant in Ontario. The analyser will replace the plant’s existing XRF Atline system installed at the back end of the plant’s 450t/hr raw materials mill. It will provide continuous one-minute sampling results, without the need to prepare samples separately. This in turn will facilitate real-time adjustments to the line’s additive weight feeders.

SpectraFlow Analytics says that its equipment will now be installed at plants across 30 countries globally.

Riyadh Cement orders airslide analyser from SpectraFlow Analytics

17 April 2023

Saudi Arabia: Riyadh Cement has ordered an airslide analyser from Switzerland-based SpectraFlow Analytics for its white cement production line. The contract also includes raw mix proportioning software. The product is an online analyser able to measure raw materials in airslides. The vendor says that by using its analyser, and a site-specific raw mix proportioning strategy, the variation in the local raw materials can be balanced out to increase consistency of the raw meal and kiln feed quality. Also the variable MgO, Na2O, K2O, Cl and SO3 content is optimally monitored.

This order is SpectraFlow Analytics’ 49th order for the cement Industry and the first airslide analyser installation in Saudi Arabia. This order raises the installed base in Saudi Arabia to seven analysers (6 crossbelt, 1 airslide) and worldwide to 71 analysers (40 crossbelt and 31 airslide).

SpectraFlow Analytics sells online analysis products to the cement, bauxite, gold, platinum, copper, potash, phosphate, coal and other minerals industries. Its products are based on near Infrared (NIR) spectroscopy as opposed to using radioactive sources or neutron generators.

FLSmidth launches digital product to analyse equipment failure

08 May 2019

Denmark: FLSmidth has launched ECS/UptimeGo, a downtime analysis product designed to increase plant uptime by identifying the causes of plant and equipment failures. Real-time dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) enable the measurement of the real impact of machine failures interrupting the production. In addition, ECS/UptimeGo provides Pareto charts and the ability to monitor maintenance and reliability KPIs to give operators a picture of a downtime event and its causes.

ECS/UptimeGo can be integrated with existing process control systems and can be paired with FLSmidth ECS/ControlCenter for an automated process to gather all production stoppages. It also features a graphic interface that allows operators to document and analyse stoppages.

Schenck Process subsidiary launches integrated digital machine status platform

25 January 2019

Germany: E-nizing, a subsidiary of Schenck Process, has launched its E-nizing application. The software product offers to integrate all Internet of Things (IoT) machines collecting data from any machine, analytics or sensor. It is an open system, highly scalable and offers everything in one place, independently of its vendors. Non-IoT machines can also be retrofitted for the product.

The product also offers visualisation, analysis and action tools. Limits for every data point can be set and linked to triggers via telephone, email or application programming interface (API) call. For example, notifications can be set to notify a plant if there is a problem with a machine or to order spare parts or requisition maintenance automatically. E-nizing also says that the product is safe using end-to-end payload encryption, unique encryption keys, two-factor authentication and certified data security.

“On behalf of the team I am delighted to announce the launch of E-nizing. The market showed a need for what E-nizing offers for a long time and we are now providing the answer. E-nizing already supports many Schenck Process machines’ monitoring, with many more coming soon. We do, what everyone’s always talking about. Easy industry 4.0 is now becoming reality,” said Andreas Evertz, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Schenck Process and Managing Director of E-nizing.
