Moroccan cement sales increase by 10% in first half of 2025

Morocco: Cement sales increased by 9.8% in the first half of 2025, according to the Department of Financial Studies and Forecasts (DEPF). Growth was driven by a 19.2% year-on-year rise in deliveries to ready-mix concrete companies, a 17.1% rise in sales to precast concrete producers, a 6.4% rise in infrastructure sales and a 6.1% rise in general distribution.

Moroccan cement sales expected to rise by 10% by the end of June 2025

Morocco: Cement sales are expected to reach 6.8Mt by the end of June 2025, up 10% from 6.2Mt in the same period in 2024, according to the Ministry of National Land Use Planning, Urban Development, Housing and Urban Policy.

Sales by members of the Professional Association of Cement Manufacturers (APC) – Asment Temara, Ciments de l'Atlas, Ciments du Maroc, LafargeHolcim Maroc and Novacim – totalled 0.83Mt in June 2025, up by 12% year-on-year from 0.75Mt.

Votorantim Cimentos completes divestment of Moroccan operations

Morocco: Votorantim Cimentos has completed the full sale of its partnership and all associated assets in Morocco to Heidelberg Materials. The transaction followed regulatory approval and clearance in Morocco, with the delivery of assets and financial settlement finalised. The commercial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Amine Mnaouer appointed as production manager at LafargeHolcim Maroc

Morocco: LafargeHolcim Maroc has appointed Amine Mnaouer as a production manager.

Mnaouer has worked for the subsidiary of Holcim and its associated companies since 2014. He started as an Electrical Maintenance Manager for Holcim Morocco in 2014 and became a Raw Mills & Kilns Manager in 2018. He later became Cement Plant Maintenance and Capex Manager in 2022. Prior to working for Holcim, he was an Electrical & Automation Engineer for wood panel producer Cema Bois de l’Atlas. He holds a master’s degree in engineering from the Henri Poincaré University in France and a doctorate in industrial digital transformation from the Mohamed First University in Morocco.

Moroccan cement sales rise to 6Mt so far in 2025

Morocco: Cement sales reached 6Mt from January to May 2025, up by 9% year-on-year from 5.5Mt, according to the Ministry of National Territorial Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and Urban Policy.

The growth concerns deliveries by Professional Association of Cement Manufacturers (APC) members Asment Temara, Ciments de l'Atlas, Ciments du Maroc, LafargeHolcim Maroc and Novacim. In May 2025, APC members delivered 1.5Mt of cement, up by 7% from 1.4Mt in May 2024.

Moroccan cement sales rise by 10% from January to April 2025

Morocco: Cement sales rose by 10% year-on-year to 4.5Mt from January to April 2025, according to the Finance Ministry's Department of Financial Studies and Forecasts (DEPF).

In April 2025, sales jumped by 32% year-on-year, driven by good performance in all delivery segments.

Cementarnica Usje’s profit plunges in first quarter of 2025

01 May 2025

North Macedonia: Cementarnica Usje, part of Greece’s Titan Cement, said that its net profit plunged by 47% year-on-year to €2.6m in the first three months of 2025. This was despite just a 2% decrease in total operating revenues, which came in at US$19.5m over the three-month period. Total operating expenses grew by 22% year-on-year to US$15.2m, mostly due to higher costs for raw materials.

Moroccan cement sales increase in first quarter of 2025

Morocco: Cement sales increased by 4.5% during the first quarter of 2025, to reach 3.38Mt, according to the Department of Financial Studies and Forecasts. Sales in the same period of 2024 were 3.25Mt. This growth was reportedly driven in particular by the precast concrete sector, which saw growth of 16.8%, and the ready-mix concrete sector, which grew by 18.6% year-on-year.

Morocco: Cement sales rose by 14% month-on-month to 1.28Mt in January 2025, according to the Ministry of National Land Planning, Urbanism, Housing, and City Policy. The ministry said in its monthly report that sales directed to distribution reached 707,000t.

Morocco: Cement sales rose by 9% year-on-year to 13.7Mt in 2024, according to the Ministry of National Territory and Urban Planning, Housing and City Policy.

Distribution-targeted deliveries reached 7.88Mt, based on data from members of the Professional Association of Cement Manufacturers (APC).
