Guangdong Tapai orders two coals mills from Loesche
17 October 2018China: Guangdong Tapai has ordered two coal mills from Germany’s Loesche for its two 10,000t/day clinker production lines in Jiaoling, Meizhou in Guangdong. This is a repeat order, following an order for two LM 35.3 D coal mills that was made in 2015. The 3-roller mill grinds 50t/hr of pulverised coal to a fineness of 3% with a sieving residue of 0.08 mm. The installed power is 1200kW. The order has been placed through Loesche Shanghai and the two newly ordered coal mills are expected to be delivered in April 2019.
China: Lubao Cement has ordered three vertical roller mills from Germany’s Loesche for a new 4500t/day plant that is being built at Bei Liu in Guang Xi. The project is being handled by Sinoma (Suzhou) Construction, part of Sinoma International Engineering and China National Building Material Group (CNBM) in turn.
Loesche is supplying three mills for the project, one each for raw material, coal and clinker/slag. One four-roller mill with a capacity of 450t/hr will be used for grinding cement raw material to a fineness of 12% with a sieving residue of R 80μm. Another mill with a throughput of 200t/hr will be used for the subsequent grinding of cement clinker to a fineness of 3400 - 3600 Blaine. A large three-roller mill with a capacity of 42t/hr will be used for grinding fuel coal to a fineness of 2% and a sieving residue of R 80μm.
No value for the order has been disclosed.
FLSmidth moves ahead with cement plant contracts in Central America
27 September 2018Central America: Denmark’s FLSmidth says it is moving ahead with two contracts for cement plants worth over Euro250m following the receipt of the agreed downpayment. One contract is for a new cement plant and the other is for an extension to an existing plant.
The cement plant engineering company has not released many details on the projects. However, both plans will be located in Central America and will supply cement mainly to their local markets. The expected commissioning is within 24 to 36 months and once operational, the cement plants will have a capacity of 2000t/day and 3500t/day respectively.
Flying Cement orders mill from Loesche
25 September 2018Pakistan: The Flying Cement Company has ordered a vertical roller mill from Germany’s Loesche for a new 7000t/day production line in Lahore. The raw material mill will be used at Flying Cement’s plant at Mangowal, where it will grind 600t/hr. The plant is mainly used to produce Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC).
Along with the mill, the scope of supply also includes a Hurriclon system from A TEC, a member of the Loesche Group, for separating finished material from the gas flow leaving the mill.
Commissioning is expected to take place at the end of 2018.
Tan Thang Cement orders more integrated digital automation and electrical equipment from ABB
19 September 2018Vietnam: Tan Thang Cement has ordered additional integrated digital automation and electrical equipment from Switzerland’s ABB for a new 2Mt/yr plant it is building in Nghe An province. The order is a follow- up order to the initial automation and electrical systems delivery from ABB for this site, which is currently under construction.
The follow-up order includes a 110kV AIS Substation (Air Insulated Substation), with a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system based on ABB Ability System 800xA for Power Control, as well as telecommunications, and High Voltage primary and secondary equipment to support the electrical infrastructure. ABB will also deliver power transformers, distribution transformers, an Intelligent Motor Control Centre, Auxiliary Control Centre, Emergency Diesel Generator, DC power supply, various field devices and related commissioning services.
ABB’s initial delivery included ABB Ability System 800xA DCS (Distributed Control System) to integrate control, electrical and communication systems for optimal visibility into all processes for stable production and efficient use of raw materials and energy. It also included ABB Ability Knowledge Manager and Expert Optimizer software, as well as basic communication and electrical system infrastructure and equipment.
The project is scheduled to be commissioned in late 2019.
San Miguel Northern Cement order two mills from Loesche
18 September 2018Philippines: San Miguel Northern Cement has ordered two mills from Germany’s Loesche for a new 5000t/day production line at its Sison plant in Pangasinan. The scope of supply includes two complete grinding plants: a type LM 56.4 mill for cement raw material and a type LM 35.3 D for sub-bituminous coal.
Loesche will supply a majority of the electro-technical components for the line and the automation systems including its LM Master product. It will be responsible for the plant engineering and the supply of filters and blowers. The new line will use also A-Tec’s Hurriclon technology for de-dusting the raw mills.
Delivery of the order is scheduled for the start of 2019.
South Africa: Bearing International has supplied a large order of Köbo chains to cement producers in the North West and the Western Cape. This consisted of 80m of coal reclaimer chain, 93m of bucket elevator chain, 90m of elevator chain, and 120m of hot pan conveyor chain. The bucket elevator chain was supplied to cement producers in both the Western Cape and the North West, while the pan conveyor chain and reclaimer chain were supplied exclusively to its Western Cape client.
Bearing International has been the exclusive distributor of Köbo chains in Southern Africa since early 2017. Germany company Köbo produces chains to order and it has manufacturing plants in Germany, Poland, and China.
Kohat Cement orders four Loesche mills
16 August 2018Pakistan: Kohat Cement Company Ltd. has ordered four vertical roller mills (VRM) from Germany’s Loesche in order to expand its cement plant in Kohat, 160km west of Pakistan’s capital Islamabad.
The order comprises a 4-roller raw material mill with a material throughput of 500t/hr and two cement mills each with a grinding capacity of 210t/hr of Portland cement. The order is finally complemented by another vertical roller mill for grinding 50t/hr of anthracite. They will all be used on the same cement production line, which Kohat Cement is in the process of building. The lead time for the mills will be eight months.
The plant’s production capacity is currently around 2.8Mt/yr of Portland and white cement. When the new line enters production, the plant’s capacity will rise by 2.2Mt/yr to reach 5.0Mt/yr.
Lafarge Emirates orders burner from FLSmidth
02 August 2018UAE: Lafarge Emirates has ordered a Jetflex Plus burner for its Fujairah cement plant from FLSmidth. Thierry Terriere, the plant manager, and Simon Jensen, head of FLSmidth Middle-East, signed the contract.
“As the business has shifted towards using low-cost fuels with high-quality clinker, we have made an ambitious decision and chosen the best option on the market – this next generation burner from FLSmidth," Sohail Qaiser, Process Manager at Lafarge Emirates Cement. He added that the company expects a ‘significant’ change in its fuel mix cost as well as a more sustainable kiln operation.
FLSmidth says that the Jetflex Plus burner is the first to be installed in the LafargeHolcim Group and that the company was selected for procurement and supervision of the installation of it. The burner product has rotatable jet air nozzles allowing for optimal adjustment of the flame as well as the low NOx emissions for various fuel types and operating conditions.
The relationship between the companies dates back to 2007 when FLSmidth built the 7500t/day Fujairah plant for Orascom.
Hermann Trollius order for Gebr. Pfeiffer
24 July 2018Germany: Hermann Trollius has purchased a used MPS 125 A type mill as part of a capacity expansion and has additionally ordered a selection of new equipment from Gebr. Pfeiffer. The company operates a lime and crushed stone works at Lauterhofen in Bavaria. It produces limestone and dolomite for use in the building, steel, glass, sugar and animal feed industries, as well as for agricultural applications.
Gebr. Pfeiffer will assist Hermann Trollius in setting up the entire grinding plant, taking maintenance measures on the MPS mill and coordinating the delivery of the additional plant equipment. Two distribution table SUT 2800 type separators will be supplied by Gebr. Pfeiffer along with a TRT Triplex dryer with a length of 3.15m and a diameter of 2000mm to be used for drying dolomite, which has a moisture of 4 - 11%. The dryer will have a new hot gas generator of the type HMG 900 for natural gas firing. The hot gas generator to be used for the mill will be of the HMG 800 type.
The new machines will be on the site in early November 2018 so that the customer’s new plant will go online in early 2019 at the latest.
