CICSA Group to acquire CADERSA
05 April 2023Spain: Italy-based CICSA Group has concluded a deal to acquire chains supplier CADERSA. CADERSA serves the Iberian and Central and South American markets, including the cement industry. CICSA Group said that the acquisition will 'complete' its range of chain solutions for bulk materials handling applications. It noted CADERSA's 'deep' expertise, ranging from round steel link chains to pin and bush chains.
The group said "Through this operation, we leverage clear synergies and great product complementarity, while accessing new markets and new industries."
Aumund Fördertechnik to supply equipment for Bursa Çimento Fabrikasi’s Bursa cement plant upgrade
19 July 2022Turkey: Germany-based Aumund Fördertechnik has secured a contract to supply equipment for a sustainability-enhancing upgrade to Bursa Çimento Fabrikasi’s Bursa cement plant. The order consists of six belt bucket elevators, four chain bucket elevators, seven pan conveyors, three arched plate conveyors, three spillage conveyors and three drag chain conveyors. The equipment will be involved in cement production from raw material preparation through to clinker grinding.
The Bursa cement plant currently operates using an Aumund bucket apron conveyor and chain bucket elevators.
Turkmenistan: Aumund has won a contract to equip Baherden Cement’s Ahal cement plant with three 300t/hr belt bucket elevators, three 450t/hr bucket elevators with central chain, a 1030t/hr double chain bucket elevator, two 200t/hr pan conveyors and 11 silo discharge gates. The equipment will serve raw materials preparation through to clinker grinding operations at the plant’s upcoming 1Mt/yr new line. Turkey-based cement plant builder Bilim Makina will receive the order.
US: Italy-based Bedeschi has been awarded a new order for the supply of two BED RNSH 1800/6 type apron feeders for Lehigh Cement’s integrated Mitchell plant in Indiana. The new feeders will be able to process up to 1300t/hr of crushed limestone and they will be placed in the primary and secondary crushing area to replace the old existing machines. They feature super duty design with CAT type chains and a Bedeschi super duty belt. As part of the installation Bedeschi has used a three dimensional survey to define the exact room availability in the existing plant. The new feeders will join three others at the plant that were already ordered as part of an upgrade programme for clay crushing and additive dosing. No value for the order has been disclosed.
Lehigh Cement, a subsidiary of Germany-based HeidelbergCement, resumed work on its US$600m upgrade project at the Mitchell plant in February 2021. Work on the upgrade was suspended in early 2020.
John King Chains acquires Precision Chains
13 July 2021UK: John King Chains has agreed to acquire Precision Chains for an undisclosed price. The group said that Precision Chains’ heavy series chains production capabilities made it an attractive acquisition. It said that there is ‘untapped potential’ for heavy series chains production for the cement industry in the companies’ collaboration.
Managing director David Wadsworth said “The acquisition of Precision Chains represents a tremendous opportunity for John King Chains to further enhance its reputation as a leading manufacturer of conveyor chains and sprockets worldwide. We are committed to UK manufacturing and consider the potential for Precision Chains to flourish under the John King Chains umbrella is substantial.” He added that the company will retain the Precision Chains brand name for the ‘foreseeable’ future.
