Saudi Arabia: Eastern Province Cement has invited contractors to bid for work on the construction of its planned 10,000t/day Najibiyah clinker plant.
Trade Arabia News has reported that the producer also plans to upgrade multiple decommissioned lines at its 3.5Mt/yr Al Khursaniyah cement plant.
Cemex raises US$5.8m from bond repurchases
07 March 2023Mexico: Cemex raised US$5.8m dollars from bond repurchases in 2022. Noticias Financieras News has reported that the producer paid US$65.2m for tender offers and other market operations over the same period.
Adani Group to enlarge ACC and Ambuja Cements stakes
12 September 2022India: ACC and Ambuja Cements shareholders tendered some of their shares under a US$3.8bn open offer by Adani Group for a further 26% stake in each company. The offer closed on 9 September 2022, and the group secured ownership of a further 2.2% stake in ACC and a further 0.4% stake in Ambuja Cements.
Adani Group agreed to acquire Switzerland-based Holcim’s 50% ACC stake and 63% Ambuja Cements stake for US$10.5bn in May 2022.
Boral tenders US$425.7m in notes
22 July 2022Australia: Boral announced the expiration of its tender offer for up to US$300m-worth of guaranteed senior notes on 21 July 2022. The producer recorded a total principal amount tendered of US$425.7m. The 3.75% notes are due in 2028.
Boral Finance announces early tender offer results
07 July 2022Australia: Boral Finance has announced the early results of a tender offer to purchase cash up to US$300m. The principal amount tendered is US$405m. The tender offer will expire on 20 July 2022.
Libya: The state-owned Ahlia Cement Company has launched a tender for the upgrade and restart of its lime plant at Souq Al-Khamis. It wants to run the restart as a joint-venture, according to the Libya Herald newspaper. The tender is for the renovation, operation and the marketing of the lime factory output for a renewable 10-year period. Al-Ahlia has invited interested parties to arrange for a site visit and collect the specifications sheet. The deadline for receiving tenders is 14 July 2022.
Oman Cement opens bids for new production line at Rusayl plant line
22 December 2021Oman: Oman Cement Company has invited contractors to submit bids for work at its integrated Rusayl plant. It wants to build a new 10,000t/day production line (Line 4) and upgrade an existing line (Line 3) to 5000t/day from 4000t/day. The plans were originally released in September 2021. The company also intends to shut down Lines 1 and 2 once work is completed.
It was previously reported in October 2021 that the cement producer was spending US$300m on the project and that it had hired Switzerland-based PEG Resources. At this time the project had a commissioning date of 2024.
Oman Cement issues Duqm power plant tender
15 March 2021Oman: Oman Cement has issued an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) tender to build a power plant at its proposed integrated plant at the Port of Duqm. The Muscat Daily newspaper has reported that the plant will have a clinker production capacity of 5000t/day and is expected to cost US$250m.
Eurocement to supply up to 150,000t of cement to PIK Group
02 February 2021Russia: Eurocement has won a tender to supply up to 150,000t of cement to PIK Group. Its Voronezh and Mikhailovcement plants will supply CEM I and CEM II products respectively. PIK Group is one of the largest residential building companies in Russia. Eurocement said that the contract is one of the largest direct contracts it has signed and that it would ensure production in the first half of 2021.
Oman: Oman Cement subsidiary Al Sahawah Cement has said that the deadline for bids for two tenders for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of its new Duqm integrated cement plant’s 5000t/day kiln lines and mill. The Oman Daily Observer newspaper has reported that Al Sahawah Cement will commission the grinding plant in September 2021, with full commissioning of the integrated plant to follow in March 2022. The company is also tendering for bids for a third EPC contract for the supply and installation of a 30MW waste heat recovery (WHR) power plant. The entire plant has a cost of US$212m.
