Saudi Arabia: Southern Province Cement has appointed Aqeel bin Fateis bin Saeed Kadsa as its chief executive officer (CEO). He was assigned to the position in July 2020. He holds a degree from the King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals and joined Southern Province Cement in 1997. Most recently he worked as the Executive Vice President for Manufacturing Services.
Jayesh Doshi resigns as chief financial officer of Dalmia Bharat
India: Dalmia Bharat’s chief financial officer Jayesh Doshi has submitted his resignation to the board of the company. Hi departure will become effective after 31 October 2020.
John Reddy appointed as Group Quality and Innovation Application Manager at Ecocem
Ireland: Ecocem Group has appointed John Reddy as Group Quality and Innovation Application Manager. In the new role he will lead a growing technical team across Europe including Ireland, UK, Sweden, Benelux and France. He is tasked with developing the product pipeline for the group and assisting with product commercialisation across Europe.
Conor O’Riain, Group Managing Director said, “His undeniable commitment to Ecocem and the cement industry is unquestionable and this new role signifies the growth of Ecocem products across Europe. His appointment marks his advocacy to improving the standard of ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS) cement production across the industry”.
Reddy joined Ecocem Ireland in 2004 and has worked for the group in various technical roles. He is a chartered engineer and is a graduate of Civil Engineering from the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) and holds an MSc in Advanced Concrete Technology from Queens University, Belfast. His master’s thesis ‘Investigating the thermal activation of GGBS concrete’ was published at the 9th International Concrete Conference and subsequently won the Irish Concrete Society, Sean DeCourcy student award in 2017.
Volkan Bozay appointed chief of Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association
Turkey: The Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association (TÇMB) has appointed Volkan Bozay as its chief executive officer (CEO). Outgoing CEO Ismail Bulut will continue his activities as an advisor to the chairman of the board of directors.
Bozay has held a mixture of public and private sector jobs during his career including a role at the R&D Unit of Undersecretariat of Treasury and Foreign Trade, head of the Finance Department of the Housing Development Administration of Turkey (TOKI) and as a board member of the Emlak Konut Real Estate Investment Company. He also worked as the Assistant General Manager at the General Directorate of Promotions of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and has worked as a Corporate Relations Manager at British American Tobacco, Turkey.
Bozay holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) on finance and strategy from the Peter F Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University, US and has a BA degree in Business Administration from the Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara. He has also served as a board member for the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly and the National Association of Tobacco Products Manufacturers at Aegean Exporters' Association (EIB).
