Asamer Baustoff to buyout Fabrika Cementa Lukavac
28 August 2018Bosnia & Herzegovina: Austria’s Asamer Baustoff plans to force a buyout of Fabrika Cementa Lukavac to acquire the remaining 0.46% share of the cement producer it does not already own. The building materials company intends to use its right to transfer voting shares from minority shareholders to itself, according to SeeNews. The move follows a previous move to increase its share in the cement producer in June 2018.
Bosnia & Herzegovina: Austria’s Asamer Baustoffe has made a bid for the remaining share of Fabrika Cementa Lukavac. At present it owns 99% of the cement producer. Fabrika Cementa Lukavac operates 0.8Mt/yr integrated plant at Lukavac.
Angolan cement plants to buy fuel from Luanda Refinery
07 November 2017Angola: Manuel Tavares de Almeida, the Minister of Construction and Public Works, says that cement plants will be able to buy heavy fuel oil (HFO) from the Luanda Refinery. The announcement follows fuel shortages in the country that have led to the Fabrica de Cimento do Kwanza Sul and Luanda Cemento plants being shut, according to the Angola Press Agency. The minister said he had received assurances from the refinery that HFO would be supplied to the cement industry.
Bosnia & Herzegovina: Fons Technology International (FTI) has replaced the existing clinker cooler of Fabrika Cementa Lukavac’s (FCL) cement plant in Tuzla. The new cooler has a capacity of 2100t/day. After commissioning by FTI the cooler has achieved the targeted process figures with a smooth mechanical operation. As part of the project FTI reused the existing cooler casing, existing refractory, four of the existing fans and the existing hammer crusher.
