Russia: Krasnoyarsk Cement has installed a continuous monitoring system for emission control at its Krasnoyarsk cement plant. It carried out the upgrade under the government’s national Ecology project. The system will transmit daily average emissions data to the Krasnoyarsk Territory Ministry of Ecology and Nature Management. Members of the public will be able to access the submissions on the ministry’s website.
Managing Director Dmitry Kireev said “According to the current legislation, the installation was supposed to start working before 31 December 2028. However, due to the fact that the enterprise is located within the city, we voluntarily assumed increased obligations and launched online monitoring of emissions ahead of schedule."
Russia: Sibirsky Cement has appointed Dmitry Kireev as the managing director of the Krasnoyarsk cement plant and Vladimir Afanasin as the managing director of the Angarskcement plant.
Kireev worked at Sibirsky Cement’s Topkinsky cement plant from 2001 until 2013, eventually becoming the director for equipment maintenance and repair. He was then appointed as the managing director of TimlyuiCement before becoming the head of the Angarskcement plant in 2016. He is a graduate of the Belgorod Technological Institute of Building Materials and the Kuzbass State Technical University. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Moscow International Higher School of Business (MIRBIS).
Afanasin became the deputy chief engineer at the Topkinsky cement plant in 2007. He later worked at Krasnoyarsk cement plant until 2011 as the chief engineer, technical director and the production director. In 2011, he became the head of Angarskcement and then managed the Krasnoyarsk cement plant from 2016. Afanasin is a graduate of the Belgorod Technological Institute of Building Materials and holds an MBA from MIRBIS.
Krasnoyarsk Cement completes environmental upgrade
10 December 2020Russia: Sibirskiy Cement subsidiary Krasnoyarsk Cement says that it has installed a new electrostatic precipitator on Kiln 5 at its Krasnoyarsk cement plant as part of an environmental upgrade project. It spent US$3m on the equipment from Switzerland. It says that it has made ‘a significant contribution’ to the company’s goals under the Clean Air national project. The company has also installed an automatic emission control system at the plant.
The cement producer now plans to upgrade the plant’s primary limestone crushing equipment for US$203,000 and install a new automated measuring system for US$379,000. It has estimated that its full-year cement output in 2020 will increase by 2% year-on-year to 621,000t from 609,000t in 2019.
Krasnoyarsk Cement workers awarded Russian state honours
16 September 2020Russia: Three workers at Krasnoyarsk Cement and its associated company Sibcemservice have been awarded the title of ‘Honoured Builder of the Russian Federation’ by the central state government. Excavator driver Mikhail Yelkin, grinding workshop supervisor Valentina Trofimova and turner Stepan Grishechko have been issued with the honourary titles for their long service with the company of over 30 years and help in mentoring new employees.
Russia: Sibirskiy Cement produced 525,000t of cement at its three plants in the first quarter of 2020, up by 14% year-on-year from 460,000t in the corresponding period of 2019. The 3.7Mt/yr Topkinskiy Cement plant produced 388,000t, up by 21% year-on-year from 320,000t; the 1.1Mt/yr Krasnoyarsk Cement plant produced 97,600t, down by 17% year-on-year from 118,000t and the Timluy Cement plant produced 39,600t, up by 73% year-on-year from 22,9000t. Sibirskiy Cement’s first vice president Gennady Rasskazov said, “Cement consumption in Siberia, Buryatia and the Trans-Baikal Territory reached 845,000t in the first three months of 2020, up by 15% year-on-year from 735,000t.” He said that April 2020 has brought a ‘significant decrease in demand,’ and revised Sibirskiy Cement’s projected 2020 sales to an estimated decrease of 7-10% from 3-5% growth. Over a two-and-a-half-month period, Rasskazov predicted a 30-50% sales fall.
Krasnoyarsk Cement begins emissions monitoring
09 April 2020Russia: Sibirskiy Cement subsidiary Krasnoyarsk Cement has equipped the exhaust stack of its 1.1Mt/yr Krasnoyarsk, Siberia plant with an emissions monitoring system supplied by Finland-based Gasmet. The system provides continuous NOx, CO2 and SO2 monitoring via a UK-based Oxitec 500E gas analyser, Germany-based Durag D-FL-220 flow rate meter and a Gasmet Simatic computer. Krasnoyarsk managing director Vladimir Afanasin said, “We approached the choice of equipment taking into account all the requirements of the Russian environmental legislation, which have recently been significantly tightened.”
Krasnoyarsky Cement will complete preliminary testing of the installation in late 2020.
Siberian Cement reduced production by 3% to 3.1Mt in 2017
26 January 2018Russia: Siberian Cement reduced its cement production by 3% year-on-year to 3.1Mt 2017. Production at its subsidiary Topkinsky Cement fell by 4% to 2.06Mt and at Krasnoyarsk Cement by 10% to 0.65Mt, according the Kommersant newspaper. Production at its Timluysky cement plant rose by 26% to 0.34Mt. Siberian Cement’s vice-president Gennady Rasskazov forecast that demand for its products will remain similar to 2017 in 2018. However, demand is anticipated to fall in some regions of the Siberian Federal District.
Krasnoyarsk Cement starts making road cement
30 March 2016Russia: Krasnoyarsk Cement, a subsidiary of Siberian Cement, has started making Portland cement of CEM I type with strength class 42.5. The product is intended for the production of concrete for road and airfield paving, bridge structures and precast concrete elements for transport engineering. The material meets the requirements of GOST R 55224-2012 and GOST 30515-2013 state standards.
Krasnoyarsk Cement’s new dry-process line nears launch
06 August 2014Russia: Krasnoyarsk Cement plans to launch its new dry-process cement line at the Krasnoyarsk Cement plant in 2014. The launch date will depend on market conditions. Construction will cost Euro262m in total, Euro19.5m of which has already been spent. Construction works began in 2009.
Yuri Kozlovsky appointed managing director of Krasnoyarsk Cement
22 January 2014Russia: Yuri Kozlovsky has been appointed as Managing Director of Krasnoyarsk Cement plant, part of the Sibirsky Cement Holding group. Kozlovsky previously served as the technical director for the plant. He started his career in 1987 at the Topkinsky cement plant, graduated from the Belgorod Technological Institute of Building Materials in 1993 and returned to Topkinsky until 2011.
