Bunting opens Bunting-Redditch Customer Experience Centre

21 September 2021

UK: Bunting has opened the Bunting-Redditch Customer Experience Centre at its Bunting-Redditch facility in Redditch, Worcestershire. The centre is equipped with high-intensity magnetic separators, eddy current separators and a revolutionary electrostatic separator. Bunting said that it will enable its engineers to work in partnership both remotely and at site.

General manager Adrian Coleman said “Having the ability to test and prove the separation capabilities of a specific machine is priceless. There is a constant flow of materials arriving to be tested and being returned. We are fortunate enough to have unique laboratory-scale technology that enables separations that are simply not possible in other test houses. Investing in our new Customer Experience Centre has already generated orders that previously we would not have secured.”

Titan America launches ProAsh and EcoTherm reclaimed ash products in the US

12 May 2021

US: Titan America, part of Greece-based Titan Group, has launched ProAsh and EcoTherm. Both products are made from ash reclaimed from landfill and can be used in both cement and concrete production. Titan America subsidiary Separation Technologies produces the materials at its Brunner Island reclaimed ash drying and electrostatic separation plant in Pennsylvania.

President and chief executive officer Bill Zarkalis said, “This breakthrough achievement represents Titan America’s commitment to the reduction of CO2 through innovation as we plan to deploy this technology across the construction material sector.” He added “By harnessing the power of this technology, Separation Technologies is utilising a revolutionary beneficiation process that is capable of converting reclaimed ash from ash basins in an efficient manner. The result is a high-grade, low carbon construction product.”

Lafarge Poland opens ash separation plant in Siekierki

03 August 2018

Poland: Lafarge Poland officially opened the Siekierki ash separation plant in July 2018. The unit was developed with local power generation company PGNiG Termika. The plant uses technology from the US’ Separation Technologies, using its proprietry electrostatic process.

The unit converts fly ash into two products: ProAsh containing less than 5% flammable parts and HiCarbon fuel containing about 30 - 50% flammable parts. ProAsh ash is used as a construction product used in cement production, ready-mix concrete and prefabricated construction. HiCarbon is used as a fuel because it contains significant amounts of unburnt carbon and so it can be reused in furnaces.

The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFEP&WM) awarded the project a loan of around Euro9m. PGNiG Termika operates a 2078MW coal-power plant at Siekierki.
