Saudi Arabia: Kreisel has delivered three 700 x 700mm high-pressure rotary valves to a China-based engineering firm for its construction of a cement plant in Saudi Arabia. Each valve is equipped with Ultra-Carbide protection and is able to convey 125t/hr of raw meal over a distance of 263m. In addition to the valves, Kreisel will also supply air supply units and other non-critical components.
UK: A court has fined CRH subsidiary Tarmac US$516,000 for failing to ensure the provision of moveable guards fitted to an interlocking device connected to a rotary mill at its Dunbar cement plant between January 2019 and April 2021. The East Lothian Courier newspaper has reported that the failure resulted in a worker’s loss of fingers after he came into contact with the unit’s rotary valve on 30 April 2021. The producer has until 20 September 2023 to pay the fine.
Nigeria: Germany-based Kreisel is supplying an RDG 2000 rotary valve to the site of a Nigerian cement plant project. The supplier says that the RDG 2000 can provide material flow rates of 570t/hr and is one of the largest rotary valves on the market.
Argentina: South Africa-based Pro-Op Industries has announced the shipment of a set of ceramic rotary valves produced by Germany-based Kreisel to Argentina. The product is to be installed at Loma Negra’s 1.5Mt/yr integrated Catamarca plant in Catamarca province. The rotary valves will replace two screw pumps with the aim of ‘substantially reducing energy consumption and maintenance costs’ at the plant. Pro-Op Industries said, ‘We are excited and honoured to be working with the Loma Negra team and to be introducing Kreisel technology to the South American region.’
