Manfred Bracher resigns from board of RKW
05 June 2019Germany: Manfred Bracher has resigned from the executive management board of RKW and will leave the company at the end of June 2019 to pursue new professional opportunities. RKW’s chief executive officer (CEO) Harald Biederbick will take over his responsibilities until further notice.
Bracher started his professional career as a project leader at the Austria’s Lenzing Group, followed by 12 years at the Finnish packaging manufacturer Huhtamaki in various positions, including General Manager Films. From 2008 until 2013, he served as managing director at Clopay Europe. He has been a member of the RKW board since January 2014 and leads the Division Hygiene & Industrial. In addition to that, he is also responsible for group operational excellence and purchasing.
RKW Group manufactures film solutions including products for powdery goods and films and non-wovens for the construction sector.
RKW ranked second in employer study
01 January 2019Germany: The RKW Group came second in a study into ‘Germany's Most Sought-After Employer 2018’ by the FAZ Institute and the IMWF Institute for Management and Economic Research. The institutes looked at the 5000 largest companies in the country and scored them by quality, performance, success, sustainability, corporate culture and values.

RKW joins CEFLEX
26 June 2018Germany: RKW has joined CEFLEX, a European consortium of companies promoting the recyclability of flexible packaging and the increased use of recycled plastic. It intends to become active in enhancing the sustainability of packaging and developing new industry standards.
CEFLEX is the collaborative initiative of a European consortium of companies that promotes the recycling of flexible packaging. The CEFLEX consortium includes more than 70 member companies that cover the entire value chain of flexible packaging, from raw material producers and flexible packaging manufacturers, to fast moving consumer goods manufacturers and recycling companies. CEFLEX aims to increase the contribution of flexible packaging to the circular economy by refining suitable system design solutions.

RKW Group appoints Reinhold Franke as head of packaging division
06 September 2017Germany: RKW Group has appointed Reinhold Franke as the head of its packaging division and to its executive board. He succeeds Matthias Kaufmann. Franke's areas of responsibility also include group marketing and communications, as well as research and development, sustainability and new business development
Franke, aged 57 years, started his career in 1985 and has worked in the sales and marketing of plastic films and flexible packaging. He began his career with Haendler & Natermann and later worked internationally for Nordenia as Head of Sales in the Netherlands and the US. In 2012, as president and chief operating officer (COO), he assumed overall responsibility for Nordenia USA Jackson. Following the acquisition of Nordenia by the Mondi Group, Franke moved to the Verpa Group, where he was responsible for setting up its US business.
