Iraq: Saman Cement has awarded a contract for the supply of a MVR 5000 R-4 vertical roller mill from Gebr. Pfeiffer for the second production line at its plant in Al Mothanna Province. The mill will grind 450t/hr of cement raw material, drying feed with 6.7% moisture to below 1%. It features a 4000kW drive and an SLS 4000 VR classifier. This follows nearly a decade of operation by a Gebr. Pfeiffer MPS 5000 B mill on the plant’s first line. Sinoma International Engineering is acting as general contractor. Commissioning is scheduled for the first half of 2027.

India: Sagar Cement has ordered a MVR 5000 C-4 vertical roller mill for cement grinding at its Dachepalle plant in Andhra Pradesh. The new unit has a drive power of 3870kW, and will produce 210t/hr of ordinary Portland cement. The investment follows the installation of a mill of the same size at the site in 2018. The project is being executed in collaboration with Gebr. Pfeiffer (India) and Gebr. Pfeiffer (Germany), with Pfeiffer’s Noida-based engineering team providing full design and support.

Türkiye: Nuh Çimento has installed a new electric LPS 420 portal slewing crane from Liebherr at its private port in Hereke to boost efficiency and reduce emissions. The crane has a 124t lifting capacity and can handle up to 1500t/hr. The company said that the crane is designed for high-throughput handling of abrasive materials such as clinker and cement.

Nuh Çimento’s port handles 5Mt/yr of dry bulk cargo and serves over 40 export markets. The 595m berth supports vessels up to 80,000dwt and features a 300m underground conveyor tunnel and automated loading systems.

Germany: Gebr. Pfeiffer will supply an MVR vertical roller mill to Thomas Zement’s Karsdorf plant in Saxony-Anhalt, replacing the existing Horomill to reduce CO₂ emissions.

The order also includes the mill building, material dosing and transport systems to defined transfer points. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, with commissioning scheduled for mid-2027.

India: Adani Cement and Finland-based Coolbrook have announced an agreement to implement the world’s first commercial deployment of Coolbrook’s RotoDynamic heater (RDH) at Adani’s Boyareddypalli integrated cement plant in Andhra Pradesh. The project reportedly aims to ‘significantly’ reduce CO₂ emissions from cement production.

The RDH system will decarbonise the calcination phase of cement production by supplying ‘clean’ heat powered entirely by renewable energy from Adani. The installation is expected to cut around 60,000t/yr of CO₂ emissions, with potential for a tenfold increase in future phases, according to the producer.

The partnership also includes plans to expand the use of RotoDynamic technology across other Adani Cement sites, with five additional projects targeted within two years. The first-generation RDH will deliver hot gases of around 1000°C to dry and optimise the use of alternative fuels.

India: FLSmidth has signed a contract with UltraTech Cement to supply two new Cross-Bar coolers with HRBs to upgrade the pyroprocessing lines at its Dalavoi and Sankar Nagar plants in Tamil Nadu. The upgrades aim to increase efficiency and productivity at both facilities.

US: ATS Walter USA has announced that it will supply Capitol Aggregates’ San Antonio cement plant with a metering and conveying system for solid alternative fuels (AF), with the aim to improve fuel handling and decrease CO₂ emissions at the plant. The system includes a DoseaFloor moving floor receiving system, chain belt conveyors, separator and screen, Doseahorse dosing equipment, Walt’Air air-supported belt conveyor and injection system. The project, to be completed by the end of 2026, will be ATS Walter USA’s fourth AF project in North America.

Spain: IKN is progressing with its satellite replacement project at Grupo Cementos Portland Valderrivas’ Fábrica Els Monjos plant. The project includes the replacement of a cooler with an IKN grate cooler, with a new cooler building, burner and a complete vent air dedusting system. On pier two, IKN is fitting a new shell section and replacing the equipment on the pier, including a new base frame, rollers with bearings and CFU.

The company reported two major milestones: the new kiln section, including the tyre, was successfully lifted into place as one piece, shortening installation time; and the pre-assembly and positioning of the cooler, which was moved into its final position.

India: Gebr. Pfeiffer has received an order to supply a cement grinding plant for JSW Cement in Nagaur, Rajasthan. The plant will use an MVR 3750 C-4 vertical roller mill equipped with a latest-generation SLS 4000 BC classifier. The system is designed to grind 132t/hr of ordinary Portland cement to a fineness of ≤8% R45µm or 155t/hr of pozzolanic Portland cement to a fineness of ≤8% R45µm.

Ivory Coast: Gebr. Pfeiffer will supply an MVR 3070 R-2 vertical roller mill to Ciments de Côte d'Ivoire (CIMCI) for clay grinding at its cement plant. The mill will produce 62t/hr of clay at ≤10% R 0.090mm for use in calcined clay cement. The order was placed by China-based contractor CBMI, which is managing the engineering, procurement and construction contract and will also supply the suspension calcination plant. The mill is scheduled to begin operation at the end of 2026.
